Origin
Harvey Dent came from a lower class family in Gotham. He lost his mother when he was a child, and his father was very abusive to him. Particularly in how he would play a demented game with a double sided coin, where if he flipped heads he would beat the young Harvey.
Eventually Harvey went to Law School and became a lawyer. Eventually campaigning to become district attorney in a bid to try and save Gotham from the corruption that consumed it.
Through the combined efforts of Dent, Batman, and Lieutenant Jim Gordon they managed to make huge steps in taking down the mob. And eventually started investigating the electronic company Nigmatech ran by eccentric entrepreneure Edward Nigma, who in secret was the supervillain known as the Riddler. The mob became desperate and were then confronted by the Riddler who offered to help take down Batman and Dent in exchange for a large fee and exclusive rights for trading in technological gear with the Gotham mobs. Desperate enough, the bosses agreed.
Nigma got his men to kidnap Harvey Dent with help from moles in the police department. He created a live feed of Harvey Dent tied to a chair surrounded by oil drums rigged with explosives. The Riddler gave Batman a gauntlet challenge that served as an opportunity for him to save Dent. A riddle had been sent to the police station that lead him to a location where a riddle containing another clue to another location and so on. Each location also having a bomb, with some of his adversaries attacking him along the way. With no cops allowed to help, otherwise the charges go off. He eventually made it to the abandoned factory that Dent was being held at where he was ambushed by several of Riddler's men. Nigma planning that the gauntlet would have tired out Batman to the point that they could beat him with ease. During the fight Dent's chair and one of the oil drums got knocked over, leading to half of his face being covered in gasoline. Eventually Batman managed to subdue the Riddler's men and free dent from his bondages. Riddler was keeping his eye on the scenario and after seeing the failure of his grunts decided to set off the explosives, brining down the factory in flames. Batman managed to take Dent out in a narrow escape, but the doused half of his face caught on fire causing severe burning before Batman could put out the flames. Batman did manage to get him to the hospital, and was enraged by what happened to Dent because of Riddler.
